Tbh I’m feeling pretty uneasy about my Russian class when school starts because there are only gonna be like 4 students including myself and my professor is hella intimidating and rude (which is partly why there are only 4 students this quarter) so idk how that’ll go. For some reason, despite being a young professor who has learned a few different languages and has a background in linguistics, her language-learning philosophy is (and I quote) “If you can’t say it right, don’t say it at all.” That’s supposed to be read in a harsh, exhausted tone btw. I have no idea how she came to the conclusion that that’s an okay thing to tell her students who are simultaneously struggling to please her while trying to learn a hard-ass language but okay
